Is your HR filing system out of control? Determining what to keep and what to toss can be daunting. This workshop breaks it down into items you must keep and items that should never house in an HR file. Should you really keep the resume an employee submitted 22 years ago? What about a staff member’s employee benefit designations from six years ago? Compensation records? Should medical records be included? We'll discuss the latest technologies to store and categorize all these materials. Bring your personnel file questions and prepare to leave with a plan for keeping what you need and tossing what you don’t.

About our presenter: 

Sean M. Worley is an attorney with Meyer, Fluegge & Tenney, P.S. in Yakima, WA with a focus in labor and employment matters. His practice emphasizes representation of private and municipal employers on matters such as wrongful discharge, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour issues, breach of contract, non-competition, FMLA, ADA/WLAD, as well as matters involving unions and collective bargaining.

As a former prosecutor, Mr. Worley evaluates matters with an eye on the courtroom, but understands that the goal for most employers is to avoid litigation. With this perspective, Mr. Worley advises employers that proper planning is important to both avoid litigation and place them in the best position possible when litigation cannot be avoided.
