Labor Law 2024: Pre-Employment Testing for Cannabis Use

Employers in Washington will soon be prohibited from making hiring decisions based on pre-employment testing for off-the-job cannabis use or positive pre-employment drug test results that find an applicant to have nonpsychoactive cannabis metabolites in their hair, blood, urine, or other bodily fluids. Senate Bill 5123 takes effect on January 1, 2024.

Learn how this law may or may not affect your organization; what industries/jobs are exempt; and why you should review existing drug and alcohol testing policies to minimize employment law liability. Special in-person event from 8-9 a.m. Breakfast will be served at 7:30 a.m.
